EVERYTHING is changing in mid-January.

The Best Space HDRi Maps

The selection of different locations in CGI.Backgrounds' collections is out of this world—literally! One of our most unique HDRI maps depicts the surface of the moon.
No, we didn't fly there to photograph it! We do capture most of our HDRI Maps in real-world locations , but in this case, NASA wasn't exactly extending us an invitation.
Instead, one of our professional photographers captured the lighting data for the moon surface HDRi map in a studio. We then used pieces of our other HDRi maps to simulate the lunar surface. This involved desaturating the images to increase the gray values. You could even add an Earth into the sky to complete the effect!

Our Space HDRi Maps

This unique HDRI map allows 3-D designers to simulate a trip to space, with full image-based lighting capabilities. In addition to our map of the moon, we also have a variety of space HDRI maps that feature elements of the cosmos.
For example, our collection's starry night HDRI maps show a starry sky and the Milky Way.
We might not be a pure CG company developing HDRI maps of alien worlds, but we can still use our expertise in photorealistic HDRI maps and backplates to take you to some amazing places--including otherworldly ones.

How Customers are Using our Space HDRi Maps

Several of our customers are already using our space HDRi Maps. Our customer Space Campers , for example, is using our space HDRis to render their innovative camper vehicles in a variety of nighttime settings.
Volkswagen has also used our space HDRi Maps and night sky maps to create beautiful effects in a virtual production environment.
