October 2024 Artists of the Month: Maximiliano Salas and Harry Poore

Sometimes, intricate details can make all the difference in adding authenticity to a 3D render.
Yes, some renders focus only on the big picture – a dramatic setting, a fast car, and a feeling.
But in many cases, the smallest details matter, and differentiate the work of true professionals from that of amateur designers.
For our Artists of the Month in October 2024, we’re excited to celebrate Maximiliano Salas and Harry Poore, two talented professionals in the automotive rendering space.
The duo recently shared a series of renders of the Porsche GT3 RS Rennsport . They’re stunning on a big-picture level, but what we especially love about these renders is the duo’s incredible attention to detail, which adds authenticity to their work.
That’s clear in the complex and highly textured environments in which Salas and Poore chose to depict the Porsche.
Although the duo selected the classic surroundings of a coastal road, the specific settings they picked for their renders include unique details.
These can be as subtle as a rough and textured concrete wall framing the Porsche as it drives, mirroring the dramatic, natural textures of the background and evoking the unique design of the vehicle’s rear spoiler.
In one render from their series, we see a jet airplane flying in the distance above the road. The presence of the plane adds authenticity, while also complementing the speed and performance of the Porsche.
The presence of these kinds of real-world details make the viewer feel like they are looking at an actual vehicle in a real environment, enhancing the immersiveness of the scenes.
Of course, that level of detail doesn’t stop with the environment! Salas and Poore extend their focus on intricate details to their vehicle digital twin, ensuring that specifics like the exact model of tire on the Porsche are rendered faithfully.
Here at CGI.Backgrounds, we share a similar focus on details (some might say obsession)! Our RAY.HDRi Maps are available at up to 32K resolution, capturing every aspect of a scene with incredible fidelity.
Because we capture our scenes from the real world, they include unplanned elements in the real environment that add realism to your renders.
This shared attention to detail made our HDRi Maps the perfect fit for Salas and Poore's project. On their Behance page , you can see all the specifics of how these renders came together.
