Each month, CGI.Backgrounds’ Artist of the Month initiative will share the work of one of our community members, highlighting the ways that they’ve used CGI.Backgrounds’ HDRi Maps and Backplates to create amazing renders.
For our first artist of the month, we’re thrilled to highlight the work of CGI artist Jacobo Rojo.
Rojo recently shared a beautiful render of a Porsche 911 Turbo S, created using imagery from CGI.Backgrounds.
Rojo’s rendering is incredibly detailed and photorealistic. To create it, Rojo used a digital twin of Porsche’s iconic vehicle, including a complexly rendered interior.
For visuals, Rojo chose a high-resolution Backplate from our collection, with both modern architectural details in the background and plenty of foreground space for a dramatic placement of the 911 digital model. The dramatic lines of the building in the background serve to complement and enhance the iconic lines of Porche’s long-time flagship vehicle.
For lighting, Rojo used one of our premium HDRi Maps. This allowed him to effortlessly add details like a subtle natural reflection in the 911’s driver’s side window, as well as beautiful, realistic reflections on the vehicle’s exterior.
In addition to rendering the outside of the Porsche 911, Rojo also created detailed renderings of the interior, shown in the same scene.
In this case, the backplate provides window fill, while the HDRi Map provides extremely realistic reflections, giving the viewer the impression of peering through the 911’s window. It’s a creative design choice that enhances the realism of the scene while lending an aspirational quality to the render.
Who hasn’t stared through the window of an iconic vehicle like the Porsche 911 Turbo, daydreaming about one day owning such a stunning car?
On the technical front, Rojo chose V-Ray, 3ds Max, and Photoshop to create his final scene.
Overall, Rojo’s work is both a prime example of his technical skill and attention to detail, as well as a perfect showcase of the power of visual storytelling in 3D art.
